The News Café was first opened in Temple Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin in October 1996 by husband and wife, Gerry and Tricia Rowe. The café was established on the basis of good food cooked to order, using all Irish sourced ingredients. The basis of that very first menu have now become the classics the The News Café has become famous for; The Big Club, Pigs in a Blanket and Breakfast Club as well as the ever popular Breakfast Roll. With our sausage patty specially made and our hand cut doorstep bread, it’s no wonder we were voted The Best Café in Dublin. Over the years we have expanded our menus to include paninis and wraps and healthy options such as salads and omelettes, while all the time maintaining competitive prices.
Following the success of the original shop in Blackrock, The News Café family grew bigger and better with the opening of BLT’s, Cabinteely in 2000 and The News Café, Windy Arbour in 2012.
With the continued hands on approach of Gerry and Tricia, supported by a loyal team of fabulous staff, The News Café group continues to go from strength to strength.
